Eligibility
  1. Your firm must be classified as a small business by the SBA:  NAICS Classification System determines the criteria your firm must meet to be classified as a small business.  You can look up what NAICS code your business falls into by clicking here and entering your business description and then match your business to the most appropriate code in the results of that are presented. Once you know your NAICS code you can look up what your size standard is by downloading the Excel spreadsheet of size standards by clicking here.
  2. Principle Office located within a HUBZone? Can you produce supporting documentation for this location; phone bill, utility bill, rent or mortgage payment etc. The website to check this is http://map.sba.gov/hubzone/init.asp#address. If your firm is not located within a HUBZone it may meet other requirements if the county in which the firm is doing business has greater than the state average unemployment rate by 140%.

  3. At least 51% of the business must be owned by a U.S. Citizen or Citizens.
  4. Does your firm have at least 1 employee?
  5. Do at least 35% of your firm’s employees reside within a HUBZone? Can you obtain picture IDs from the employees matching payroll records which show they reside within a HUBZone.
